Hi Guys,

we want to point our domain name at the new site, can anyone assist with this?

Also is anyone having trouble saving page edits after making changes?

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Scott

You will need to point your "DNS A-record" to the IP address or our servers at 72.32.249.98. If this sounds too complicated, don't worry you can usually contact the company you purchase your domain from and they can do this for you.

After you have purchased your domain name and pointed it to SnapPages, you will need to go into your website settings and change your domain name to match the one you just purchased. Once all this is done the change can take up to 48 hours to take effect. If your domain name still does not bring up your SnapPages website after that time, contact us for further instructions.

I'm not exactly sure about the "saving pages" issue so I will need to look into it further.

What if I have more then one domain name? I point the A record to your IP and get a blank page.

Yes, currently you can only have one domain officially associated with your website. You might be able to just forward your other domains to your main domain depending on what your hosting company allows you to do.

Apologies in advance if you received this through the feedback form already. I clicked "submit" but the screen appeared the same and I am not sure it went through...

Having problems redirecting my current site: elanaustin.com to meganward.snappages.com. My A records for both http://www.elanaustin.com and http://elanaustin.com are pointing to 72.32.249.98. My URL in the snappages settings panel is correct.

My email A record and MX record are going back to my original host for email. The email redirect is 100%, the URL redirect is 50%. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Right now it doesn't.

Problem is, I've already sent out my "New Website!" announcement, which bites if it's going back to the old site. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my new business site, so I want to make sure it works 100% of the time.

I can email you screen shots if that will help me resolve this as quickly as possible. Thanks!

I checked out the site and it appears to be pointing correctly. It is possible that the problem has to do with your local computers DNS caching. In order to speed things up a big your computer sometimes caches where different domain names point to as I understand it. This can cause it to sometimes appear like it's pointing to the old website when in actuality it isn't. If you do a google search for "clear DNS cache" you can probably find some instructions on how to fix this.

The good news is that if this is the problem it is probably only happening for you and not everyone else that is trying to view the site.
