Was all excited to port my small business site to snap pages, but when checking out other ppl's snappages, I found they all load very slowly.....a deal breaker for me & many others I'm sure.
I tried to build a simple site for my business using Joomla - let me tell you people, it is not for beginners, neither is drupal...I've given up on Joomla and need to find a SIMPLE solution, but not one that compromises speed....
mebbe I'll try wordpress...won't look as good as a SNAPpages site, but it will be fast..
lemme know when the speed is better Steve, and I'll consider switching right away.

Thanks, I haven't noticed any problems with speed lately nor have I had any other reports of this so perhaps you caught it at a bad time or something. I'll continue to look into this to see if there are places where improvements can be made.

Only thing I can say it is building the page:
1. content page
2. content inside
3. header background
4. picture in header
5. menu
It takes some time to build, 2 seconds?
Content is (very) fast, only the other parts are "slow(er)"

Created my page a few days ago, love it.
Considering upgrading to Pro ... but indeed, pages load slowly! As I am considering professional usage, this could be a (very) negative point.
Content seems to show up rather quickly, menu and lay-out a lot slower!

Just checked two other sites via the show case topic ... and noticed exactly the same ...
Content is loading "rather" fast ... but the rest is (painfully) slow!
I do not want to be negative, I think your service is just great! Would be good if you could fix something on the speed of loading the sites.

Thanks guys. The next update we do will be focused on improving the themes. With this we will also be looking at how to speed up the load times of the themes themselves, which as you mention is the part that takes longer to load.

I hate that the page goes blank between page loads. Can you make it so this doesnt happen? Real annoying...
thanks!

Content is fast, I agree. The slowest part of our site is the header with 2 images. On a broadband connection, it takes a 2-3 seconds which is extremely slow and the delay is noticeable.

I still think your service rocks. And I'm purchasing the PRO account now. I hope that the loading issues will be fixed (or improved) somewhere along the line.
Also ... I'm sure you are aware of the issues with scandinavian characters (ie. ÅØÆ) and the english keyboard setup.

I also had some sites that were slower than others and I noticed that if I made sure any images on the header that were uploaded were as small as possible it definitely improved the load speed. The logo in particular can really slow it down if the file is much larger than it needs to be. One thing I noticed is that if I resize it using the drag corners option, the next one I uploaded shows up at the same size and I couldn't tell if it was the "correct" size or not. So, needless to say, I upload the image as small as possible in size and resolution while making sure it still retains its view quality. The same applies to images I upload to the header, larger files slowed it down considerably.
For most of you this is a no brainer, but maybe for someone who was a newbie like me it helps. :o

Steve, My experience hpkok's...it's a real downer to make excuses about site speed when pitching clients. The menus take absolutely forever to appear. Would appreciate any advice.
