I am trying to get google to 'verify' the website www.frontrangemustangclub.org and to do so they are asking for me to add a meta tag or upload a html file onto the website that it can look for and then verify us as a real live website. Any ideas??

Yes, just create a new page and title it exactly what they tell you to call the page. By default you'll notice that your web pages end with a .htm extension and google asks for a .html extension. The page will actually load if you type either .htm or .html so it should work. Then on google, just tell them that you have added that page and it should verify.

Thanks for that suggestion Steve but I still am getting an error message of

We've detected that your 404 (file not found) error page returns a status of 200 (Success) in the header.

I created a page with the google html they asked for as the title and that page opens from the inside of google but when you ask it to verify it give the error message above and comes back as not verified. Am I missing a step somewhere?
