View Full Version : Difficulty with formatting text

Forgive me if this is already answered in the forums - I looked before I wrote this...

I'm trying to create a page that is similar to a resume. I attempted to copy and paste a page from a Microsoft Word doc but all formatting (such as tabs) was lost when I pasted it into my SnapPages page. Then I attempted to manually place the text where I wanted it by using the space bar to arrange three columns of text (in an effort to keep from retyping the whole page.) On the edit screen it looked as if it worked but when viewing the site, the manual formatting I did was lost. Lastly, I tried completely retyping the text, spacing to create the three columns of text I need....everything looked good....until I saved and went to the actual site and once again, it didn't hold the formatting.

Can you send me a link to the page you are trying to duplicate? Perhaps I can give some suggestions on how to create the layout.

This was cut and pasted from a word document. The state it's in now is my attempt to put the spaces back in to create columns in the first few lines. Interestingly enough they show up in the preview in edit mode but when I view the site outside the editing mode the spaces close back up....

If you are trying to create actual columns you might want to try using a different page layout that already has some columns build into it. Also try separating the different text sections into different text blocks to make them easier to rearrange and it will give you greater control of your layout.

some where in these pages I saw that some one used a google docs page that they published and then used the I frame widget thing and pointed it to that URL, might prove to be an interesting option for you but i dont know i havent tried it yet

I am unable to copy and paste text into my Snappages.
After I highlight and COPY a block of .rtf text and go to my Snappage the PASTE is dim, not active and I can't paste anything. Any ideas why?
