As the topics says, im wondering if I can create a site using snap pages and export all the files to my own webhost and use my own domain. If so, I would consider using this instead off E107.

You can't export the pages to host elsewhere, but if you do already own a domain, you can point it to your site when you are done. More details on how to do this can be found here:

this does'nt appear to work... you only provide an IP address... my provider is asking for a canonical name & specifically states not to use an IP address
Please revert soonest

Your provider is more than likely asking for something like a nameserver. You would only use nameservers if you wanted a different site to have complete control of your domain. You don't want to do this with SnapPages because you would not be able to have email addresses and other things with your domain name. You only want to point the "a-record" which is the part of your domain name that points to a website to SnapPages. If you ask them to change the "a-record" they will know what this means.
